What we do

Our charitable purpose is to to advance the education of the public about surrogacy and, in particular, approaches to surrogacy that are ethical and safeguard the interests of all parties. To achieve this purpose we will:

Amplify voices in the surrogacy community that are able to share their lived experience

Collaborate with other organisations to achieve common goals

Educate people and society about surrogacy

Convene people and organisations – including those opposed to surrogacy – to participate in constructive conversations

Our projects and activities will:

  1. Raise awareness and understanding of surrogacy, in particular altruistic surrogacy within the UK’s legal framework;

  2. Provide information, advice and guidance about access to safe and ethical surrogacy for people unable to carry their own children and those who wish to support them;

  3. Support research into surrogacy to promote our charitable aims, and to share that research widely and for the public good;

  4. Provide information, advice and guidance that:

    • supports the alleviation of discrimination against all parties involved in surrogacy journeys;

    • safeguards against the exploitation of all parties involved in surrogacy journeys;

    • promotes equivalent legal rights and state entitlements for all parties involved in surrogacy to those enjoyed in traditional conception;

    • helps to raise professional standards in healthcare provision for all parties in surrogacy journeys;

    • protects and promotes the rights of people born through surrogacy;

    • supports people born through surrogacy to understand their origins.
