What we believe

We believe that surrogacy – when practiced ethically and safely – is a valid and valuable pathway to parenthood for people unable to conceive or carrying their own children, and should be a fulfilling and empowering experience for everyone involved.

We believe that the following should be central to surrogacy journeys, and to all legal and regulatory frameworks for surrogacy:

  • safeguarding the welfare of people born through surrogacy

  • protecting surrogates’ bodily autonomy

  • preventing the exploitation of all parties in surrogacy.

Our values

Individually and collectively we will honour the following values:

  • We will be honest with everyone. That includes being honest about our experience of surrogacy, acknowledging that surrogacy agreements sometimes go wrong and that UK surrogacy law is imperfect.

  • We will act with integrity. That includes defending and promoting safe and ethical practice in surrogacy and calling out exploitation and those acting in bad faith. We will be open about our funding sources and relationships.

  • We will work to safeguard the dignity of people born through surrogacy, surrogates and intended parents. We will treat people – including those that oppose surrogacy – with dignity and respect, and expect the same in return.

  • We believe that openness is critical in surrogacy journeys and in promoting constructive public conversation about surrogacy. In sharing information and personal experience, we can more effectively educate each other about surrogacy.
